Norepinephrine transporter PET imaging in obesity (Prof. Dr. Swen Hesse, completed)

In this study researchers examine if and to what degree dysfunctions of central neurotransmitters, such as the “happiness hormone” Serotonin, are responsible for the emergence of eating disorders or adiposity. With the so called Positron Emission Tomography (PET) these processes can be visualized and measured.

This research project has been approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of the Universität Leipzig (206-10-a-08032010). The project is recorded in the German Clinical Trial Register (DRKS) with the number DRKS Nr. DRKS00003537.
