Focus of work

The main aim of Bilal Sheikh's research is to understand the link between chromatin and metabolism in the context of human pathologies.  Bilal undertook his PhD studies at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Melbourne, Australia, followed by postdoctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute for Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg, Germany. He is currently exploring the interplay between chromatin and metabolism in models of human developmental disorders, with a particular focus on the crosstalk between metabolism and the vasculature.
